Beauty, War and Gymnastics

"Jerry and me at Senior Prom Valley College - he was killed in Viet Nam"

As some of you may know I was a gymnast as a kid. Recently, Wendy, the owner of my childhood gym joined facebook. While checking out her profile I got a window into her secret life. Well, not so much secret, just not known to the hundreds of boys and girls who trained at her gym.
She was a a very fabulous and beautiful model! The above image and caption are from a collection of her images titled "the Men in My Life".
This timeless image of her and her one-line caption are heartbreaking.

Thanks Wendy!

Dale Grande

Mr. Grande is the owner of Chicago Tattoo Co. I recently took this portrait of him to include in my upcoming book with Nick Colella.

Skate or Die

First day at the new skate park! We had two skate boards and a (three wheel) scooter for the little guy. He could not stand to wear his helmet and didn't care much for the scooter. He wanted to watch the action from the top of the ramp and ride the front of my board.
His older bro was a different story. He's got a new board and can't get enough of it. I took him up some ramps today and he was loving it!
Can't wait to go back.

Cut & Paste

Hello,
I just attended your Chicago show and I have some feedback for you. First off, Chicago is always a tough crowd. Instead of trying to win them over the two (annoying and very hard to understand) announcers were acting like they were annoyed with the crowd and were giving them a hard time. All those people paid $20(way too much) to see the show and they aren't just gonna cheer for two douchebags wearing sunglasses and rambling on and on over a bad sound system. (Are other cities different?) The long bios and introduction of every single person on stage (mostly unknown judges) seemed like a long private circle jerk. Long bios exist in your program and a Price is Right intro would have suited the crowd...."Jim Joe from Toronto is a senior motions designer and author...Come on down." I guess I could go on and on but you get the idea. Private parties on stage don't win over crowds in this town and $20 tix won't have em coming back.

thanks,
missy

Good job Francis!
