As some of you may know I was a gymnast as a kid. Recently, Wendy, the owner of my childhood gym joined facebook. While checking out her profile I got a window into her secret life. Well, not so much secret, just not known to the hundreds of boys and girls who trained at her gym.
She was a a very fabulous and beautiful model! The above image and caption are from a collection of her images titled "the Men in My Life".
This timeless image of her and her one-line caption are heartbreaking.

8th Grade Graduation - 1929

This is LaVerne, my dad's mother, in her 8th grade graduation portrait. She is 12 or 13. I still don't look like this much of a lady and when I think about what I looked like in 8th grade....well, I'll try to find a photo for you. But they are all embarrassing.
